Japanese miso soup

The original and staple soup of Japan.

Total prep and cook time: 15 min Serves 2



Ingredients


  • 4 cups of water

  • 4 sachets Spiral foods dashi stock

  • 4 TB Spiral foods hatcho miso paste

  • 1/2 cup Spiral food nori crinkles

  • 1/2 cup shallots, sliced

  • 1/4 cup firm tofu, diced


Method

  • Bring the water and dashi stock to a light boil

  • Add the nori, shallots and tofu and simmer gently for 5 minutes

  • Take off the heat

  • Gently whisk the miso paste with some hot water, once smooth add to the broth and mix well

  • Adjust miso and salt to your preferred taste

  • Divide and serve into bowls

  • Tashimu!
